Andrew Einspruch was a vegetarian, aikido-loving, computer-loving improv comic from Atlanta, USA, when he met Billie, an Australian stand-up comic, freelance photo journalist and budding filmmaker, who also understood the silent language of nature and animals, was deep into shamanism, vegetarianism, alternative healing, self-sufficiency, and her animal family, and had never heard of a computer.  It was a match made in heaven.

Andrew moved to Australia in 1987, and realised just who he married when Billie spent their honeymoon filming the Harmonic Convergence in Glastonbury.  He also realised something about himself — because it was fun.  

Together, we performed and taught comedy and filmmaking, wrote masses of articles for all kinds of magazines, taught a course called Healing with Humour and people fell in love with David and Joanna, our very earnest New Age comedy characters.

Life took a turn when we moved bush and started writing children’s books.  Billie wrote 10, and Andrew wrote them for many years and is now up to 90.  Yes, 90.  And we’re talking published children’s books.  At the same time, we moved into animal welfare and Billie began offering her service as an animal consultant or communicator.  It was never meant to be a business, but it took off in the way of small and sincere services.  We rescued a lot of horses and had to move to a bigger place.  We went into television so we could afford to keep them and wrote for the award-winning Hi-5, and also Cushion Kids and Andrew, later, RockWiz. (If you've ever found yourself singing along with your kids,"So many animals inside of me, so many animals, set them free," you have Andrew, in part, to thank for that.)

On the spiritual side of things, we've had many teachers of native wisdom including Denise Linn, Lynn Andrews, Grandmother Kitty of the Seneca Wolf Clan Teaching Lodge who introduced us to our Maori, Native American and Aboriginal family.  Billie also studied with the Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids, and still is. In the early 90s, the 2012 Prophecy was still firmly in our path as visiting Native Americans asked Billie to write about the coming Earth Changes and taught her about being a safe person.

The desire to make our own films became overwhelming and we couldn’t see the point of making a short.  So we made Finding Joy.  Billie won an AFTI award for Best Actress and also directed and wrote the film, which also became the launch feature for the Spiritual Cinema Circle in 2004.  Finding Joy was our first attempt to educate the public about dogs via a screenplay.  We got a bit more blunt (while still keeping it fun) in Seven Days with Seven Dogs, which has delighted audiences around the world, and the short was even screened in film festivals and on ABC’s Stateline (ACT).  Andrew came into his own as a film editor with this film. It starred our own seven rescued dogs. ( We currently have eight, 27 rescued horses and various other delightful four -legged and feathered ones who share our lives!)

Billie garnered a bit of a reputation with her stance against death row in pounds, and after studying all kinds of alternative healing for 30 years, became a full mesa carrier in the tradition of the Inka shaman of Peru through the Four Winds Society. Honouring the soul call to help people reconnect to the natural world, she  began interviewing wisdom keepers around the globe for This Sacred Earth: The 2012 Phenomenon, which was then edited by Andrew.  The film received a standing ovation at rough cut stage because it gave people hope and uplifted them.

At the same time Billie wrote and we self-published Secret Animal Business, a story-filled book about the psychic and spiritual life of animals and how to care for them in an enlightened way.
